Unilever drags JCI up 0.44% to 3,721.61

JAKARTA: Indonesian shares in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) climbed 0.44% to 3,712.61 this morning, led by Unilever Indonesia.

Amongst 418 shares listed in Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), 23 shares rose, four shares fell and 391 unchanged.Unilever contributed 2.28 points to the gains in the index, followed by Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam with 1.24 points, Astra International with 1.21 points, and Bank Danamon with 0.99 points.However, there were several shares weighing on the index, including Indosat with 1.95 points, Perusahaan Gas Negara with 1.45 points, Bakrie Sumatera Plantations with 0.81 points and Benakat Petroleum with 0.72 points.Meanwhile, Nikkei 225 in Tokyo fell 0.30% to 10,147.45 in Tokyo.Hong Kongs Hang Seng Index surged 0.99% to 2,355.07 and Shanghai SE Index strengthened 0.90% to 2,867.64.Taiwans Taiex Index weakened 0.25% to 1,925.90. Kospi Index in South Korea also slid 0.25% to 1,952.90 while Singapores Straits Times rose 0.93% to 3,201.81. (t04/wiw)
