JAKARTA: Car retail sales in November slowed to 64,809 units from 66,330 units in the previous month on seasonal trend and government's plan for limiting subsidized-fuel use.It was also 4,252 units lower compared to the realization of wholesale number (factories to dealer networks) that was 69.061 units. Yet, wholesale number showed stagnancy in domestic sales in November from October's figure which was also 69,000 units.Amelia, Marketing Director of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM), asserted that as of January 2011, all private (black-platted) car users must consume non-subsidized fuel.Separately, CEO of PT Astra International Tbk for Toyota Sales Operation (Auto2000) Jodjana Jody revealed that the loss in car retail sales in November was caused by a shortage of car supplies leading to consumers indent demands. Furthermore, car demand in November was relatively good as indicated by number of vehicles ordering letters (SPK) that are similar to October's.(T01/NOM)
