Indonesian stocks continue rising 0.87%

JAKARTA: Indonesian stocks extended its gain at midday break today, rising 0.87% to 3,754.91.Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) added 32.56 points after moving 3,722.91-3,757.35.Of 418 stocks traded in Indonesian Stock Exchange, 102 rose but 85 fell.The stocks motoring the gains in the index included PT Bank CIMB Niaga, which surged 6.24 points, followed by PT Adaro Energy with 3.83 points, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara with 3.62 points and PT Indo Tambangraya with 3.18 points.Meanwhile, the shares dragging the index were PT Bank Negara Indonesia, which plunged 4.42 points, followed by PT XL Axiata with -1.53 points, PT Unilever Indonesia with -1.37 points, and PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur with -0.70 points.Eight of nine sectors in Indonesian Stock Exchange gave positive contributions.Mining was the largest contributor to the increase in the index with 31.52%, followed by finance with 30.57%, basic industry and chemical with 18.04% and infrastructure utility with 5.98%.As JCI strengthened, BISNIS-27 Index also jumped 3.65 points or 1.11% to 333.99 at lunch break from Monday's closing. BISNIS-27 Index moved within the range of 330.43-334.28. (T04/NOM)
