PTPN XII sets 2011 revenue at IDR1 trillion

JEMBER: PT Perkebunan Nusantara XII, a state-owned agriculture company operating in East Java, predicted that its revenue will increase at least IDR1 trillion in 2011, as this year revenue is expected to reach IDR934 billion with profit as much as IDR94.5 billion.Director of Human Resources and General Affairs PTPN XII Soewarno said that the target revenue was set after rubber price in international market elevated to US$4 per kg, as supply from producers such as Malaysia and India decreased.According to him, rubber sales this year contributed as much as 40% of the total revenue. The remaining was generated from woods, especially Albizia Falcataria, which contributed 15% to the revenue, coffee (8%), cocoa (6%), and other downstream businesses such as tea and bottled water.The Surabaya-based state company also makes use of some land in eastern East Java for growing sugar cane to be supplied to several sugar factories. The potential plantation is optimized as an object of agro-tourism.We are optimistic that the target revenue next year can be met, given the rubber price that stay high and the production of the commodity in our plantation reaches 13,000 ton a year.
