Indonesian stocks dip 0.07% to 3,689.67

JAKARTA: Indonesian stocks suffered further drops 0.07% to 3,689.67 at market closing today, propelled by coal company stocks.

Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) at Indonesia Stock Exchange moved within the range of 3,676.73-3,692.42.Of 418 listed stocks at Indonesia marker, 75 stocks advanced, 148 dropped, and 195 were unchanged.Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam led the JCI fall with contribution of 3.03 points, followed by Bank Negara Indonesia with 2.76 points, Unilever Indonesia with 2.73 points, and Adaro Energy with 1.91 points.However, the other banking stocks such as Bank Mandiri restrained the JCI drop with contribution of 4.96 points, Bank Central Asia contributed 4.37 points, Bank CIMB Niaga with 2.83 points, while coal mining company Dian Swastatika made 1.75 points contribution. Five sectoral indexes slumped, representing a sell-off from investors.Consumer foods stocks index contributed the largest drop to the JCI with 171.93%, followed by mining index with 139.19%, miscellaneous industry index contributed 64.22%, agricultural with 36.29%, and infrastructure and utility with 19.86%.In contrast, BISNIS-27 INDEX today advanced 0.13% to 325.06.
