Indonesian stocks closed up 0.27%

JAKARTA: Indonesian stocks extended its gain as it was closed up 0.27% or 9.82 points in closing session, led by financial shares. Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), Indonesia stock benchmark index, climbed to 3,581.56 from the opening level of 3,571.45 at 04.00 p.m. today after moving between 3,601.84 and 3,536.66.Of 420 shares in the JCI, 92 shares gained and 106 slipped.PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) led the gain with 4.35 points followed by PT Astra International with 3.36 points, PT Bank Negara Indonesia with 2.74 points, and PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia with 2.39 points.Shares eroding the gain were PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia with -5.08 points, PT Gudang Garam with -2.17 points, PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia with -2.14 points, and PT Jasa Marga with -1.21 points.Five out of nine sectors in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) gave positive contributions, led by finance with 103.74%, utility, infrastructure and transportation with 49.14%, construction, property and real estate with 21.45%, miscellaneous industry with 19.32% and trade and services with 17.84%.In line with the stronger JCI, BISNIS-27 rose 0.70 points to 313.30 from the opening level of 312.554. The index moved between 316.75 and 308.24.(T03/NOM)
