Indonesian stocks rise 0.03% led by Perusahaan Gas Negara

JAKARTA: Indonesian stocks at opening of stock trade this morning surged 0.03% to 3,637.69 from 3,637.45.Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) moved within the range of 3,637.69-3,649.98. Of 420 shares traded in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), 16 rose, 2 fell and 402 unchanged.The gains in the index were led by Perusahaan Gas Negara, which jumped 2.88 points. Other shares driving the index up included Bank Central Asia with 1.45 points, Unilever Indonesia with 0.91 points, and Bank Rakyat Indonesia with 0.73 points.The shares lagging the index included Bank Negara Indonesia, which slid 0.55 points, followed by Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa, which dropped 0.22 points.Eight of nine industry groups in IDX gave positive contribution to the index. Finance sector was the largest contributor by giving 37.11%, followed by infrastructure utility with 21.46%, consumers good with 10.68%, and service and trade with 9.79%.As JCI strengthened, BISNIS-27 Index also gained 0.04 points to 320.02 this morning. BISNIS-27 Index moved within the range of 320.01-320.91. (t04/wiw)
