Indonesian stocks slipped 0.51% at midday break

JAKARTA: Indonesian stocks slipped 0.51 % to 3,602,39 at midday break today from yesterdays closing level. Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) moved within the range of 3,595.95 3,626.12. Out of 420 stocks listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), only 71 surged while 112 fell and 237 unchanged. Three shares fell for almost 2 shares rose.

Bank Central Asia led the loss by plunging 2.90 points. The stocks contributing negatively included Perusahaan Gas Negara with 2.88 points, Bank Danamon with 1.49 points, and Bank Rakyat Indonesia with 1.45 points.Meanwhile, the shares restraining the index from plunging further included Adaro Energy, which gained 2.85 points, followed by Bayan Resources with 1.98 points, Telekomunikasi Indonesia with 1.20 points, and Plaza Indonesia with 0.90 points.Eight of nine industry groups in Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) contributed to the drops in the index. Finance sector gave the largest portion to the drops with 38.47%, followed by infrastructure and utility with 23.78%, consumer goods with 17.11%, basic industry and chemical with 9.41%, miscellaneous industry with 5.34%, mining 4.13%, agricultural with 2.66% and construction, property and real estate with 1.53%.As JCI slipped, BISNIS-27 Index also fell 2.20 points or 0.69% to 315.08 at lunch break today. BISNIS-27 Index moved within the range of 314.38318.17. (t03/wiw)
