SEOUL: South Korea's benchmark stock index, the Kospi Index, rose 0.02% at 9:05 a.m.
The index of 771 companies traded on the Korea Exchange rose 0.44 to 2,037.97. Among the stocks in the index, 308 rose, 220 fell and 241 were unchanged.Gains in the Kospi Index were led by Sk Energy, Hyundai Mobis and Sk Holdings Co Ltd. About 13.51 million shares changedhands.Sk Energy Co Ltd, which rose 8,000 won to 196,500 won, was the most active stock by value in South Korea.The next most-active issues were Daegu City Gas Co Ltd, which rose 330 won at 5,730 won, and Korea Electronic Power Industrial Development Co Ltd, which rose 570 won to 8,090 won.
