JAKARTA: Capital Market and Financial Institution Supervisory Agency (Bapepam-LK) will improve the reinforcement of supervisory and compliance functions on the securities and insurance companies.Head of Bapepam-LK Fuad Rahmany said the reinforcement of the supervisory function is expected to better protecti the investors."We have recruited 243 new employees; yet, not all of them will do the supervision. Some will monitor the compliance of the securities and insurance companies," he said at 2010 Year-End Press Conference, yesterday.As a regulator, he continued, Bapepam-LK attempts to provide protection to the investors who invest in the stock market. With stronger supervisory structure, he expects the domestic capital market to continue growing and gaining public confidence. (T06/NOM)
