Indonesian stocks slip 1.12% at midday break

JAKARTA: Indonesian stocks plunged 1.12% at midday break today.Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) lost 39.87 points to close at 3,525.07 at 11.30 a.m. from 3,564.65 at opening session this morning and moved within the range of 3,518.56 3,569.64.Of 422 companies traded in Indonesia Stock Exchange, 128 fell, 42 rose and 252 were unchanged.PT Gudang Garam Tbk led the drop in the index as it lost 4.21 points, followed by PT Astra International, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia, and PT Indo Tambangraya losing 3.83 points, 3.61 points and 2.87 points, respectively.Meanwhile, the shares restraining the index included PT XL Axiata Tbk, which climbed 2.51 points, followed by PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia with 2.38 points, PT Kalbe Farma with 0.60 points and PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur with 0.52 points.All nine industrial groups listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange gave negative contribution to the index. Mining contributed the most with 28.65%, followed by finance with 28.05%, consumer goods with 13.19% and miscellaneous industry with 10.08%.As JCI tumbled, BISNIS-27 Index also slid 3.71 points to 299.63 at 11.30 a.m. today from 303.30 at opening. BISNIS-27 Index moved within the range of 298.80-304.30. (T04/NOM)
