JCI climbs 0.85% in midday break, led by Astra International

JAKARTA: Indonesian Stock Exchange rose 28.98 points (0.85%) to 3,438.14 at midday break from yesterdays closing at 3,409.17.The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) moved within the range of 3,411.08 3,450.79. Among 422 stock listed in the index, 116 stocks rose, 49 fell and 257 were unchanged.Astra International led the indexs gain with 5.26 points, followed by Adaro Energy 3.78 points, Bank Mandiri 3.68 points, and Charoen Pokphand Indonesia 1.94 points.Meanwhile, stocks that restrained the index from further gain were Perusahaan Gas Negara with 1.43 points, Telekomunikasi Indonesia 1.19 points, Bank Rakyat Indonesia 0.72 points, and Bank Negara Indonesia 0.55 points.Six index sectors gave positive contribution as led by mining sector with 42.57%, basic industry and chemical with 18.86%, miscellaneous industry with 16.93%, financial with 12.31%, consumer goods 8.71%, and agriculture with 4.80%.Bisnis-27 index was also closed higher 3.40 points (1.16%) to 295.45 from yesterdays closing and moved within the range of 292.34296.94.
