Indonesian share rises by 0.26 points led by Astra

JAKARTA: Astra International led Indonesian shares 0.26 points higher from yesterdays closing at 3,442.50 to 3,443.16 in the opening session.The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) swung within the range of 3,443.16 and 3,490.06. Of 422 stocks sustaining the index, 36 stocks augmented, one stock slumped and the remaining 385 stocks were unchanged. Astra International drove the gain as it rose by 4.31 points, tailed by Bank Central Asia with 2.88 points, Perusahaan Gas Negara with 2.15 points and Adaro Energy with 1.89 points. Of nine sectors listed in Indonesias Stock Exchange (IDX), eight sectors granted positive contributions. Financial sector acted as the leading sector with 29.06%, followed by utility, infrastructure and transportation with 15.10%, consumer goods industry with 14.40%, mining sector with 14.27%, miscellaneous industry with 11.35%, chemical based industry with 9.25%, agriculture sector with 3.95% and property, construction and real estate with 0.94%. BISNIS-27 Index also posted similar gain as it was opened 0.10 points higher from yesterdays closing at 295.37 to 295.47. The index stood between 295.47 and 301.02. (t02/wiw)
