Adaro drives JCI 8.46 points lower

JAKARTA: Indonesian shares lost 8.46 points or 0.24% from last weeks closing at 3,496.17 to 3,487.71, led by PT Adaro Energy.The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) stood within the range of 3,476.35 and 3,521.63.Of 422 stocks traded in the index, 59 stocks rose, 160 stocks weakened and the remaining 203 stocks were unchanged from the previous level.PT Adaro Energy led todays drop as it slumped by 1.88 points, followed by PT Unilever Indonesia (-1.35 points), PT Bumi Resources (-1.22 points), and PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (-1.19 points).Several stocks giving positive contributions included PT Astra International with 7.82 points, PT Bank Danamon with 2.45 points, PT United Tractors with 1.57 points and PT Global Media Com with 1.14 points.Six of nine sectors listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange performed negatively. Mining sector became the leading contributor with minus 77.32%, tailed by consumer goods (-43.00%), utility, infrastructure and transportation (-34.12%), agriculture sector (-21.86%), chemical based industry (-6.77%) and property, construction and real estate (-6.26%).On the contrary, BISNIS-27 Index was closed 0.68 points or 0.23% higher to 300.79.
