Malaysian investors eye 3 sectors in Indonesia

JAKARTA: The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) committed to encourage Malaysia investment plan due to high business prospect in number of sectors such as plantation, property, and infrastructure.HSBC Indonesias Senior Vice President of International Business Nick Gandolfo stated its client projects the sectors will significantly develop thus attracting investors.We facilitate and open the access for investors to invest in Indonesia. Plantation, property, and infrastructure are viewed as prospective sector, he said during Association of Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), yesterday.Market conditionAbout 30 Malaysian investors under ACCCIM, he continued, came to Indonesia to study investment potential in this country and to discuss market condition issues like licensing, macroeconomic, infrastructure, politics, and employment affair.Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) and HSBC Indonesia have sealed a cooperation agreement to promote direct investment, to support the work and to open every accommodating access.BKPM also agrees to provide information on business prospect and the picture of Indonesias investment condition for HSBC or other foreign investors while HSBC will forward the recommendation to meet investment information necessities.HSBC and Hong Kong Trade Council plan to hold investors forum to bridge BKPM and Hong Kong investors.ACCIMs Vice President Dato Seng Leong believes there will be an agreement to deliver business in Indonesia, particularly in the fields of oil and gas, mining, plantation, natural resources, manufacturing and infrastructure.Companies, he continued, that have invested in Indonesia are Lion Group specifically Lion Mask and Lion Prima.
