ANZ targets 20% more third party funds

JAKARTA: PT ANZ Panin Bank set target to collect third party funds at IDR23.5 trillion in 2011, increasing 20% from IDR19 trillion through the first half of the year, relying on priority banking.According to ANZ Retail Banking Director Anthony Soewandy, there was an increase in third party funds during the first half of the year because of the priority banking product, which has been running since May 2009.Currently, our priority banking is accounted for 70% of total third party funds, or IDR14 trillion of IDR19 trillion, he said yesterday.Provided the current amount of third party funds, the bank controlled by ANZ Banking Group Ltd has increased the figure by 18.45%, compared to IDR16.04 trillion in 2010.ANZ will keep priority banking as mainstay in generating third party funds, said Anthony said. The company targeted that the number of priority banking customers would reach 15,000 people, increasing from the current 10,500. (20) (t04/msw)
